MP-128 Control Applet

Revised 10/5/96
Description
The MP-128 Control Applet(small application program) allows fast access
to the MP-128 MME Driver's Console and Hardware Configuration Windows.
It is particularly useful when sharing the lpt port with a printer via
an A/B switch box. It's use is optional (but highly recommended) since
these windows are accessable through Control Panel's driver settings
utility. Windows 95 users will particularly appreciate the simplicity
after wading through the morass of windows required to access driver
settings a few times.
The applet may be run as a background task, allowing almost instantaneous
entry to the driver windows. Like any application, it can be set up to
automatically start with Windows and run in minimized mode.
Operation
The program is very simple to use, as it has only three menu items:
File - used only to exit the program.
Console - opens MP-128 Console Window if the MP-128 driver is
loaded and active. The MP-128 Hardware Configuration Window is
opened instead if the driver is loaded but inactive due to a
hardware configuration problem. Both windows function in the
same way as if accessed through Control Panel.
Help - Currently contains an About function, which is useful to
determine the version number of the applet.
Once opened, the driver Console Window can be used with the Print Switch
button to allow glitch free interface/printer switching. The Hardware
Configuration and Driver Version windows may also be accessed from the
Console window.
For MP-128S and MP-128SP models, SMPTE operation variables may be changed,
and the SMPTE tape striping function may be executed.
