you could do what i did and just build your own splitter snake. passive, transformerless, direct split. it's definitely time consuming, but it works. i just took an 8 foot chunk of multicore out of my 28 channel 150 foot snake and made it into a split snake. lot of soldering and time, but having a direct feed from each mic is the only way to go as far as i'm concerned. the direct outs on the consoles i don't like cause many of them are post eq or post insert, or just generally not right for one reason or another. also, you don't have to have transformer iso splits. they isolate the two sends electrically, but they do nothing for signal loss that may occur by loading the mic from two mic pre's anyway. the signal loss is almost nothing really so it's fine. plus transformers don't pass phantom power either.
i've never had a problem with any ground loops or hums, but you should of course test it to make sure.
