Main focus: stabilizing of firewire boot process. Please turn your attention especially on the firewire boot behavior and report any residual issues! No changes to the PCI variants.
The PowerCore Control Panel must be closed during power-on of your firewire based PowerCore, as it will prevent proper device arrival! This issue will be fixed in an upcoming release - please make sure that issues you report are not related to an open Control Panel.
The boot process of 6000/X8 devices sometimes can take up to 15 seconds, (add more time, if there are more devices on the same bus). During that time it is crucial the Control Panel is closed, as this will definitely disturb the boot process.
You can monitor what happens in the device manager.

No other issues are addressed in this beta release compared to the previous beta release.

* installer does not show the readme file
OSX:
* reboot needed (seems to be unavoidable with 10.5+ ...)
* disk image does not contain PowerCore icon
* CPL: Languages other than English don't work
driver:
Windows:
* PCI: Windows 7 - reboot needed after driver update
* firewire stack: Sometimes - after a lot of device enumerations - the Windows bus driver itself (the 1394 driver) comes into an unresponsive state - this can be re-animated by a right-click disable-enable sequence in the device manager
OSX:
* PCI: KP(intel) when canceling auval
application software:
Windows:
* open Control Panel prevents correct device removal (leading to unusable firewire devices once the Control Panel is closed). Workaround: Power-cycle firewire device with Control Panel closed
* Control Panel does not close on right click from tray
* plug-in license issues (reports that the license file from an uninstalled plug-in could not be written to disk, probably Windows 7/UAC related)
* no messenger
