How to record VSTi automation
1、Check System Exclusive filtering is turned off (No tick in the box):
Options > MIDI Setup > Filtering... > Sysex
2、Record/program your VSTi MIDI sequence as normal.
3、Create a new track and set the Output and MIDI channel to the same as the VSTi track you are going to record knob tweaking for.
(You can record on the same track as the original VSTi if you want to but this is not advisable as if you mess up the tweaking it will be harder and more time consuming to remove all the recorded SysEx data from the combined track)
4、Start recording as normal and tweak the VSTi knobs & faders.
5、Stop recording.
6、Play back your song and all knob movements will be automated
