年度最值得期待的效果器 - Altiverb 7 - 可處理自採混響樣本
前幾天狗公腰兄發布了關於Altiverb 7的新聞，我注意到官網上有一個Making IRs的頁面。
點開一看，十分興奮。下面翻譯了該頁大部分內容，相關文件下載請轉至原頁面。
Whether you are sampling a bed room or a digital reverb unit, whether you use a portable radio or Pro Tools connected to a PA system, the basic steps are always the same:
不論你是要採樣臥室或一個數碼混響單元，不論你使用便攜收音機或連接到PA系統的Pro Tools，基本的步驟都是一樣的：
1. you select a sound to put into your space or gear,
2. you record what comes out of the space or the gear, and
3. you drop the recordings onto Altiverb.
1 你選擇一個聲音，置於你的空間或設備，
2 錄製它，
3 把錄下來的樣本放入Altiverb。

用掃頻文件採樣聲學空間
The files here are 44.1 kHz interleaved 24 bits stereo wave files that have proven to transfer well to many hardware players. The sweep is in the Left channel of the file. If you want to record using a DAW, just split the stereo files and use only the sweep channel.
這兒的44.1kHz,交錯,24bit,stereo格式波形文件已證實適用於很多硬件播放器。掃頻波形在左聲道。如果你打算用數字音頻工作站來採樣，只需分類出左聲道單獨使用就好。
Recommended sweep file for all general purposes:
推薦通用的掃頻文件：
30s sweep for 16sec reverb 44k.wav
It takes about 1 minute to get max 16 seconds of reverb.
In a hurry ?
時間很趕？
On a busy film set when people are waiting, time is limited. When you do not have the time to use an entire minute per take use one of shorter sweeps below. Do select the proper sweep for the length of the reverb you wish to sample.
在一個大家都在等著的匆忙的劇組現場，時間常有限。如果不能每一景都花上幾分鐘來採樣，你可以在下面選擇短一點的掃頻文件。一定要根據你想要的混響長度選擇正確的掃頻文件。
10s sweep for 3s reverb 44k.wav
fast, but delivers max 3 seconds of reverb.
10s sweep for 7s reverb 44k.wav
delivers max 7 seconds of reverb.

Digitally connected reverb gear: use the spike file below. It is better than sweeps at capturing time variant features like chorus or wander.

Several types of audio can be dropped onto Altiverb and made into Impulse Responses. All of them require you to drop the recording onto the IR import tab of Altiverb. The movie at the top shows how to switch to the IR import tab, and how to bring up the dropped audio description popup menu pictured below, of which we discuss the options one by one.

這是鄙人見到的第二個讓用戶可以自製IR的廠牌，
前一個是Voxengo，他們的Voxengo Impulse Modeler已放出好幾年，

不過Voxengo Impulse Modeler只能自己建一個虛擬空間，
如今Altiverb卻讓大家可以採樣真實空間和設備，
這難道不值得興奮嗎？！
最後，鄙人想深情的高呼一句：
偉大、光榮、正確的Brother Who就是牛、就是牛、就是牛啊就是牛！
附上他老人家寫於1999年的《Acoustic Mirror 移魂大法》，
大家看了就知道他有多麼牛叉了。
前一個是Voxengo，他們的Voxengo Impulse Modeler已放出好幾年，

如今Altiverb卻讓大家可以採樣真實空間和設備，
