A Physics-Driven Equalizer Derived from Real Circuits
From the Physicist’s Bench to Your DAW

Gyrator X is a next-generation equalizer plugin built on a fundamentally different approach to digital signal processing. Designed by physicist and mastering engineer Oliver Gretz, Gyrator X moves beyond traditional DSP techniques by modeling the actual electrical behavior of analog circuits—delivering a level of realism, responsiveness, and musicality rarely achieved in the digital domain.

At the core of Gyrator X is a physics-based, component-level emulation of gyrator circuits—electronic structures that emulate inductors without their physical limitations. This approach allows the plugin to reproduce the dynamic interactions, and tonal depth found in classic analog equalizers, while maintaining the flexibility and precision of a modern digital workflow.

A New Standard in Analog-Style EQ Design

Gyrator X features a complete suite of carefully modeled signal-shaping tools.

Gyrator-Based Equalizer Core – Low, Mid, and High bands built from true gyrator circuit models, delivering natural, interactive frequency shaping.
Rediscovered '70s Low Shelf – A rare vintage topology revived for weighty, musical low-end control.
Signature Sky Band – A proprietary high-frequency shaping design that adds air and openness without harshness or spectral imbalance.
Advanced Filter Architecture – High-pass and low-pass filters modeled after real analog designs, including Multiple Feedback, Sallen-Key, passive filters, and a true four-pole State Variable filter.
Dual Saturation Stages – Two independently placeable saturation modules modeled from real analog hardware, offering tube, transistor, diode, and JFET characteristics with anti-derivative anti-aliasing for pristine sound.
